We have been driven that everyone should have the opportunity to hear the gospel at least once . "It was 3am in my living room in Amman, Jordan. My buddy, Mohammed, had just left the house after a long night of playing cards, eating chips and talking about the Gospel. It was the first time in his life he heard the life-giving, soul-satisfying news that Jesus saves.. in this moment I realized I was part of something big..What about you? Are you ready to be part of something far bigger than you?
We realize when working with Muslims, we often face prejudice and fear in our own hearts. Here are some good questions for you to consider:
Yes No Are you willing to deal with any prejudices you might have against Muslims?
Yes No Do you love Muslims, and are you willing to spend time with them and grow in love for them?
Yes No In the same way Paul became like those he was trying to reach, are you willing to sacrifice your own culture in order to live among Muslims who have a different culture, so that you can reach them with the good news?
Yes No Are you willing to sacrifice the ways of sharing the good news that are comfortable to you but unhelpful for Muslims, in order to share in ways that help Muslims understand?
Yes No Are you willing to be challenged with new ways of thinking and doing ministry?
Yes No Are you willing to work towards house groups in Muslim contexts, instead of bringing Muslims to your church?
Yes No Are you willing to consider using the Qur’an sometimes, if that will help bridge your friend’s understanding of Jesus?
Yes No Are you willing to adopt other practices that people have seen fruitful in church-planting movements among Muslims, even if those practices are uncomfortable for you at first?
➢ If you are still reading and you answered a strong “YES!” in your heart to nearly all of these questions, you may be a good candidate for this project/task. Contact your local OM Office for the next step in applying to come.
