Ministry details

After arriving in Ukraine you will have a day to meet the team and get an overview of what the camp program will look like. After that, you will be traveling to the village where the camp will be. You will meet the local church's pastor/volunteers and maybe take part in the church service. Camp days you will spend time with the kids doing sports, crafts, sing songs, bible lessons and just having lots of fun! There may also be opportunity to meet and share with parents. Each day you will also have team time, feedback and planning for the next day. After camp time, you will return to the city of Vinnitsa for a day of debrief and feedback, before traveling home. Please be prepared to take part if you have the opportunity to visit a church service - for instance share a testimony or sing a song.

Participant profile

Born again Christians with a heart for children and teens, able to handle the stress that the language barrier brings with it, a team player with a servant heart and a sense of humour.

The days before and after the camp you will be housed in the Vinnitsa dorm - comfortable rooms. While in the village for camp you may be housed with local believers, in church halls, maybe sleeping on the floor, outside eastern toilets.

All meals are included. Expect good home cooked Ukrainian food. Unfortunately, during these camps we are unable to cater for special diets.

Please arrive at the Havryshivka Vinnytsia International Airport (VIN). You will be met at the airport by a representative of OM Ukraine with an OM sign. The team will likewise make sure you get back to the airport in time for your departure flight.

Participants must be in good health. Travel on the Ukrainian roads can be hard on one's back. Travel may include a donkey cart ride and you might be walking a lot in the village to where the camp will be held each day.

People from the EU, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan do not need a visa for visiting Ukraine up to 90 days. For those needing a visa it is important that you apply by April 1, 2019.
People from other nationalities have to apply for a visa. The visa must be obtained BEFORE leaving your home country. You will need a single entry (1 month) visa for Ukraine. Ask at the consulate in your home country what is needed to obtain the visa. If you need an invitation letter, we can get this to you but please allow 2 months for this to be obtained and sent to you. Cost of a visa invitation letter is 45Euro and not included in the cost of the outreach. We need full passport info, home address, church and church address info to get the invitation letter for you.
Visa costs are also not included in the campaign and must be paid separately.

Even though there will be someone to translate, please do not expect a full time translator working with you personally. Be creative in communicating with the kids.
